I am an aspiring mountain guide and mountaineer living in Northern Norway.
My journey with skis has been quite eventful. The first turns made in Myllymäki, Joutseno, in the early 2000s didn’t ignite the passion for skiing yet. It took the January Alps ten years later for that. Approaching and departing from the big north faces of the Alps with 130-centimeter mini skis, climbing boots, and Silvretta bindings made me think that there must be an easier way to do all this.
After that realization, skiing became a way to move in the mountains, which eventually grew into a passion. Creating your own tracks in untouched snow is an art, just as searching for untracked lines is. The freedom to express oneself is nearly limitless, with the stability of the snowpack and one’s own skills being the only limiting factors. The profession of guiding has also brought a strong passion for finding the best possible snow for clients on any given day.
I mainly ski in Northern Norway and the Alps.
