I am an aspiring mountain guide and alpinist living in Northern Norway. My journey to skiing has been quite eventful. My initial turns at Myllymäki in Joutsa in the early 2000s didn’t ignite a passion for skiing; that took January’s Alps ten years later. Approaching and exiting the Alps’ big northern faces with 130 cm mini skis, climbing shoes, and Silvretta bindings made me think that things could be done more easily.
After that realization, skiing became a way to move in the mountains, eventually growing into a passion. Drawing one's mark in untouched snow is an art, as is searching for unskied lines. The freedom to express oneself is almost limitless, with only snowpack stability and personal skills as limiting factors. My profession as a guide has also fueled a strong desire to find the best possible snow for my clients.
